PRICING

and what you get for your proofread

What does a proofread look like?

Above is a video I created of a sample story page to show exactly what you get with my proofreading services. While the clip was taken in Microsoft Word using the Track Changes feature, I also work in Google Docs. Google Docs will show up as suggestions to be accepted or rejected as well as comments, same as above.

What is included?

When reviewing your manuscript, I check for all of those final pesky mistakes. This includes spelling, punctuation, spacing, grammar, capitalization, and formatting issues. In addition to my proofread, I offer minor copy editing, including adding comments when I notice a sentence doesn't make sense or when a word is used repetitively. These mistakes are less common by the time a manuscript makes it to a proofreader, but it is always good to have another set of eyes.

How much does it cost?

The standard price for my services is $0.006/word. For example, a 10,000 word short story would cost $60 USD and a 50,000 word novel would cost $300 USD. Because working with a new editor can be nerve-racking, I offer a new-to-me author discount on the first project. This means that if we have not worked together before, I will take 20% off your first order. I also offer a 1,000 word sample to make sure the project will be a good fit for both parties.

What genres will you proofread?

I work on all types of fiction. This includes romance of all types, paranormal, fantasy, science fiction, RH, and more. I do not typically work on books involving non-con scenes unless it is in reference off page. I also proofread books ranging in size from short stories to full-length novels.

What if I want to know more?

Great! If you have any other questions or would like to move forward with your sample edit, message me. Use the contact form on my website, send me a message on my Instagram or Facebook page, or email me. I look forward to hearing from you.
